Look & Find-Training the Eye

If you read magazines whether in print or on screen, they normally have Puzzles at the end. One of them being, can you spot the differences. Introducing this topic, can you spot the differences in terms of face shape? Upon interaction of similar faces, people can’t believe how similar people look, they subconsciously ignore the subtle, yet to be spotted differences as well, identifying the individual person, making them who they are.

Also, these people have all worked together before in show business, therefore have interacted together in real life. So, all of these photos are actual photos of them taken together and they are not photo shopped, one photo of one person added to another, as a composite, blended, unified image.

There are 10 (and counting), cognitive exercises here to see if you can spot the differences. For each one, click on the link below the visual, for a more in depth analysis identifying by differentiating, basically disassociating the two, primarily by looking at face shape among other facial attributes. So, see if you can disassociate or, spot the differences by look-and-finding them, as a result, training the eye as you might do, spotting differences in a magazine using the same techniques for each exercise.

Here is the first one below to start…

1) 10 Things differentiating 2 people in 10 Things I Hate About You

From vastly similar, to equal opposites (noticeably similar, as well as different), see if you can spot 10 differences in addition to face shape of person by starting with this one…

(Hint: One is on the left, the other is on the right. Joseph has the much longer, flatter shape with Prominent nose and Heath has a slightly rounder, wider, closer to egg shaped face).

2) The Departed Cast: The Mafia Family, everyone seems to not only be in cahoots, but related to each other, in terms of appearance very similar. For another example: Jack Nicholson looks like an old Leonardo DiCaprio, vice versa. Also, there are two others below, similar but can be differentiated.

Even though they did a Scorcesse film together alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Jack Nicholson, making it all the more confusing who is who?

Which one is Matt Damon and which one is Mark Walberg?…

3) Two villains from Harry Potter

Both are known for playing villains in Harry Potter. They are made up into their character so much physically, they look much different in real life, much closer to each other, as seen here. They are not vastly alike, but both somewhat similar in face shape to Liam Neeson and Harvey Keitel, Daniel Day Lewis, therefore somewhat to each other.  Also, they even both have a similar hairline and colored eyes, are the same height. The Question is, seeing they have similarities who is who? (Hint: One was Draco’s father and one was Voldemort).

4) Jim Carrey vs. his costar

Which one is the real,  Jim Carrey-hint, he is younger in the film, but not as youthful as you think. Being so famous, you might recognize him right off, then see him in the person next to him here.

If you have a good idea who is who after looking closer, for more about this click here…

5) Two Harry Potter castmates…

These two being so famous in the same film, neither are confused for one another. However, just looking at both of them side by side, they are very similar. You could say one is a darker/lighter version of another in the films and one did transform into another temporarily in one of the films…

So who is who?

6) Kate Hudson vs. Gwenyth Paltrow- Which one is Goldie’s daughter?…

7) Nicole Kidman vs. Amy Adams:

Yes, one is older than the other and much taller, with a more discreet expression and Australian accent. However, like all people seen on this page here, they are very much alike at a glance.

Which one is Amy Adams  and which one is Nicole Kidman?

8) Winona Ryder vs. Natalie Portman

Black Swan- Sisters are reunited on-screen for Black Swan when one said to the other, “I want to be like you”. Maybe she does in real life? They both have a similar dark, eccentric, mysterious demeanor in their numerous dramatic portrayals of characters over the years. Yes one is older than the other. But, having two different last names in show business, some like me at first noticed how similar, without realizing they were related, how similar they really do look, even if differing in age.

Which one is Winona Ryder and which one is Natalie Portman?

9) Olsen Twins

The Olsen Twins are the most famous, successful twins in Hollywood and often thought of when the term twin is brought up. Not just in this photo, but they are very similar besides the fact of being related, pre-Mary-Kate’s aneroxia and plastic surgery. I was almost confused myself when they were much younger, especially in this photo.

Which one is Mary-Kate and which one is Ashley?…

10) The A-Team Cast

The A-Team including the A-List team of actors, 2 anyway being Liam Neeson and most recently nominated for an Oscar, Bradley Cooper. They are both similar yet somewhat different, one difference being age. They may look alike but differ in face shape among other differences can you guess the ten? There are hints in parenthesis below to help figure out how to go about differentiating who is who…

Which one is Liam and which one is Bradley?

If you have a good idea who is who after looking closer, for more about this click here…

11) Sleuth Co-Stars:

They play opposites in Sleuth and when one character said to another, “You’re me, I’m You”, words have never been truer. The only distinct difference is they differ in age. There are 10 ways these people are different. First see if you don’t associate one for the other and match the name with the face…

Which one is Jude Law  and which one is Michael Caine?

13) Which Chris is Which?

Image result for chris pratt vs chris pine

There are so many Chris in Hollywood. But, is it just the name making it confusing?… For more about that, click here.

So, I hope you enjoyed these cognitive exercises. I have been meaning to release this for a long time. Let me know what you think, I hope to add more and elaborate if necessary, enjoy the visual. Thanks for visiting!

Magnificent? Thank you. I ought to use that word more often

Yeah, you make a really good point b/c it does help to have video with the visual exercises too. I plan to bit by bit. But, I also have other videos below.

But, I found basically it helps to look closer at the shape of face to help identify and even compare more than one at once, even of gender not matter how much close to how far on a scale, even of more than 2 faces at once. Here are few examples in working-progress posts to demonstrate…

Depp in a little more depth along with others…

Basically, I posted a look-and-find kind of post to help well “Train the eye” for detail of faces in whatever form. Here is a fandom one…

Just some freebies and goes to show you might think you see one similarity of one face, but may be seeing another associated other as well.

It all comes back to looking at the shape of face…

      Identify and then

I found the shape is key and basically this is a look and find exercise.

So, hope you enjoyed this section and thanks for your comment, for visiting.
